Cambodia- Siem Reap~* TARANTULA AND SCORPION VIDEO ATTACHED

A short getaway on the 1st of May 2016- Siem Reap, Cambodia.

From the very first point, poke on the ASEAN map blindly and chose Cambodia is because that I never been to there before.

There are more comments which saying Siem Reap is more happening than Phnom Penh so yea Let's go! ;)

Day 1

uri_mr1461882568239

The local time is one hour earlier than Malaysia. Funniest question came out once we touched down at the airport:

'I am not sure if we are at the right place for holiday..' ... ...

IT IS SO PEACEFUL HERE!!! OK Let's explore!

20160429_085003

We got out taxi ticket from the airport counter for about USD10 to get to our hotel.

20160429_081027

Cambodian are really hardworking and they are aggressive in earning money. The taxi driver non-stop persuading us to hire him as our driver for the whole tour even if we said we have already booked a tuk-tuk. Anyhow, i think that it is good that they have the positive attitude to earn a living.

Our hotel is located at the city centre which is walking distance to the most happening street of the town- Pub Street.

A short brief from the receptionist on WHAT, WHERE, WHICH and WHEN to go.

Some complimentary welcome drinks and snack while we checking in.

20160429_082926

The very first thing we step out from the hotel after we checked in, immediately i returned and get my umbrella and put on sunblock! SCORCHING! The sun blazes down from a cloudless azure sky. I AM NOT JOKING THAT I AM FEELING THE BURN!

OK next... FOOD PLEASE. HUNGRY MAX!

We took our brunch at one of the restaurant in Pub Street. Pardon me for not writting down the restaurant name.. as i was too hungry.. just go in, order and eat and left. LOL.

Since it was just a short 3 days 2 nights trip, the very first thing we do is to visit one of the seven world wonder- Angkor Wat.

It was the first photo taken when we started our journey, so i actually can still smiling sweeeetly... Excuse me for the following weird smiley face as it was just too hot to squeesh a smile by then..

20160429_091316

Another gentle reminder, put on face mask if you are travelling with a tuk-tuk as it is very dusty on the road.

Finally ... i thought we reached.. but no.. this is just the place where we buy ticket ..

20160429_104447

I was actually bit erm upset with my ONLY precious souvenir for myself in Siem Reap. I was hoping to get a big smiley face on the my lovely Angkor Wat cert. However, they took my photo just one glimpse after they asked me to take down my sunglass and so there it goes... my Angkor Wat certificate...

20160429_104202

Continue tuk-tuk journey to Ankor Wat.

After we back to hotel and got some rest, we walked to the nearest restaurant with the most customers.

These are all the recommended Khymer dishes in the restaurant. I love the fish amok and spring roll the most. Spring roll is a must for my every meal in Siem Reap xD.. Food served with good quality and good service. Price will be slightly higher as it is located at the tourist site.

I must say. The alcohol beverages here are super cheap!!! At least, way cheaper than in Malaysia.

Pub Street is just a 5 minutes walking distance from our Hotel. So, we chose to chilled at there for the 2 nights. The whole street is the most happening street i guess among all others in that area. There is also a night market across the river linked by a bridge which is just in front of the Pub Street.

Night Market

There are local souvenirs selling in the night market. It is suitable for those who wish to get some small gifts or souvenirs for friends and family.

We had special supper for the night.

Our first time encountering this special dish: Balut.

Balut: A developing bird embryo (usually a duck or chicken) that is boiled and eaten from the shell. It originates and is commonly sold as street-food in the Philippines. They are common food in countries in Southeast Asia.

20160429_233212

While we walking back to our hotel , we saw a tuition centre. An open concept tuition centre which is open for the public and for free. There are plenty of volunteer English who retired or having long vacation here teaching the cambodian kids without receiving a penny. I love how they give back to the society and i would love to see this more at other 3rd world countries too.

20160429_185934

Thats all for the day 1.

Day 2

 Siem Reap Old Market

Siem Reap Old Market(Psah Chas, pronounced “psa cha”) is the one most people will get to know though. Right in the heart of town. They’ve got clothing, spices, housewares, jewellery, rat-traps, fabrics and detergent for washing them, souvenirs, DVDs and, of course, food, and they cater to absolutely everyone in town.

Fruist and vege and us :D

There was this special restaurant which made me stopped by and take some photos. Initially , we thought of having a tea break there but it only open after 5pm.

Day 2 was not as hot as Day 1 but it was still very sunny. Under the hot sun, walking at a dry and dusty street, we then found a place to have a tea break.
